Level 2 & 3 Nationals

15 Aquatic Academy swimmers represented ESP at the recent Level 2 Northern Regionals that were swum at the Delville Pool over 4 days. Once again there were teams from Tanzania, Namibia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, as well as all the clubs from Gauteng and Mpumalanga.

This team was high spirited and had fun even though the weather was cold and wet.

This year our “legend numero uno” is Kyle Mckenzie . Kyle faced his races like an Olympian. He was tired from competing in many heats and finals, but managed to push his feelings aside to continue. Kyle made 7 finals and won 3 medals (1 silver and 2 bronze).

Other finalists include Savannah Mitchell(5 finals), Jess Burgess (1), Murray Copeland(2), Colette Fourie (2). Storm Ryder, Nicholas and Jonathan Smith, 1 final each. Many Academy swimmers made 11 and 12thplace (First and second reserve). This was an accomplishment in itself as there were so many competitors in every age group.

All our swimmers scored a least one Top 20 time and all swum personal bests.

ESP placed 24th out of 55 teams.
